Mentoring Matters – December Talk (2020) Online Event

Date: December 10, 2020
Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM PDT

Your Leadership Brand: How you can use your leadership identity — your brand — to be a better leader

Great leaders, at every level, inspire and move people. They make things happen. They are consistent and committed because they know who they are: They know their core values, they are clear about what matters.

When you know who you are and why your organization exists — your brand identity — you display an executive presence that stirs action.

How do you define and communicate your authentic brand? Together, we’ll look at how you can develop your brand and use it to become a better leader, using the methods Moe uses to build brands for companies. You will learn:

  • What a personal brand is and the very real benefits of a strong, genuine brand
  • How to discover your core values and use them to define your authentic brand
  • How to be your brand every day
  • How to translate your brand into actions that make you a better leader

Meet Our Featured Mentor: Moe Rubenzahl

Moe Rubenzahl

Moe Rubenzahl is a marketing strategy consultant with worldwide clients in many industries, ranging from 2 to 700 million dollars in revenue.

An engineer by training (with a BSEE from Princeton University and an MSEE from Stanford University), Moe understands high tech. He has 40 years of executive-level marketing experience in billion-dollar firms. He was Executive Director of Internet Marketing for Maxim Integrated, a $2.5 billion semiconductor manufacturer, where he built a world-class website and search marketing programs that outperformed much larger competitors. Previously, he was the Marketing Director for a consumer electronics startup, which he saw through its public offering. He began his career at Hewlett-Packard, in design engineering and product marketing roles.

Moe uses an engineer‘s approach to marketing, with straightforward, methodical marketing processes that make sense. His goal is to give each client a roadmap that the whole company can understand and even junior-level staff or contractors can execute. Common client projects include brand messaging; persona development; and Internet marketing, including website, social, content, and search engine marketing.

Online Event Information

As we receive registrations to this event, we will collect email addresses of attendees. As the event date gets closer, we will be sending out the Zoom link for the event via email. Along with this information, we will send out a guide on how to gain the most out of the session.

Attendees will have the ability to chat with each other just like you would in an onsite networking event. We plan to allocate 15-20 minutes of the event to online moderated networking.

To make the networking event even more interesting, we are imagining now that the event is scheduled online, we could have the presence of attendees from many parts of the world. This should add some fun and interesting aspects of interactions to all of us participating in the event.

Regarding Coronavirus COVID-19

The Mentoring Club is monitoring guidance about the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic on a daily basis.

With the spread of COVID-19 in many parts of the world including the Bay Area/Silicon Valley where we are based out of and originally planned on conducting this event, we are moving this onsite event to completely online.

We support the lockdown/social distancing response to the crisis geared towards flattening the COVID-19 curve (slowing the spread of the virus) and helping our healthcare workers and systems manage their services and prevent them from experiencing enormous stress and potential collapse.

We encourage everyone to exercise the following personal protective protocol to ensure that we limit our exposure and risk to the virus: practice social distancing, eat healthy foods and supplements, get restorative sleep, and find creative ways to exercise indoors and follow your specific location’s official directives for exercising outdoors. We hope everyone stays calm and informed. Avoid panic, and most of all, enjoy the journey of learning despite the challenges of COVD-19.
